Nienke and Chris put together a wedding that felt completely like them. They celebrated at Botanica in Oceanside surrounded by bright tropical colors, personal details, and all of their favorite people. The whole day felt relaxed, fun, and focused on spending time with the people they love.

One of my favorite details was the surfboard they used as their guest book. Since they both love spending time by the ocean, it was such a fitting way to make the day feel even more personal. Paired with all the colorful florals and decor, it gave the whole wedding a fun, laid-back feel.

Before the ceremony, they shared a first look and exchanged private vows. It gave them a chance to slow everything down and spend a few quiet minutes together before the day really got going. Those are always some of my favorite moments to photograph.

They also exchanged gifts, and Chris surprised Nienke with one of those old-school 90s slide viewers filled with photos from throughout their relationship. As she clicked through memories, photos of the two of them, and moments that led them to their wedding day, it was such a thoughtful gift that felt incredibly personal. It definitely brought out a few emotions and was such a fun throwback at the same time.

They had a big bridal party, which meant there was always something happening. From getting ready in the morning to celebrating on the dance floor, the energy never really slowed down. You could tell how loved they are by the people who showed up to celebrate with them.

To wrap up the night, everyone gathered outside for a bubble exit as Nienke and Chris made their way out together. It was the perfect ending to a day that felt relaxed, colorful, and completely true to who they are.
